We have officially kicked off construction at the Fire Station #8 in Minneapolis. This project consists of major HVAC and Electrical upgrades, bathroom, kitchen, living quarters remodeling, and new finishes throughout the fire house. Fire Station #8 provides fire protection and emergency response services in the Whittier, Lyndale, Lowery Hill, West Phillps and South Uptown neighborhoods.
Brief history
The Fire Station #8 was established in 1884 and was originally called Fire Station J (1884-1939). In 1939, the original building was knocked down and a new building was built, creating Fire Station #8. The current 12,552 SF building has 5 fire poles, a hose wash station, kitchen and living area, bunk rooms, and exercise room.
